About MCAF ...
For 96 years of the Marine Corps’ long, illustrious history of being the Nation’s Force in Readiness, the Marine Corps Association has played a key role in supporting the professional development of Marines in times of war as well as during times of peace.
Today’s world is as unpredictable and hostile as it has ever been. To live up to its motto, “First to Fight,” Marines need to take advantage of every opportunity to enhance their professional education and training to deploy and to carry out their mission. The Marine Corps Association is proud of the role it has played in supporting the Marine Corps in the professional development of its Marines.
Since its founding, MCA’s mission has not changed – we continue to:
- Support the Marine Corps by disseminating knowledge of military art and science among Marines
- Provide professional development opportunities for Marines
- Foster the spirit and preserve the traditions of Marines
But, as America’s military paradigm has evolved and shifted over the years, MCA, as a not-for-profit veteran’s organization, has found itself increasingly limited in its ability to raise the substantial funds necessary to support the demands on its resources. In order to more effectively support its mission, MCA has created and incorporated the Marine Corps Association Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) public charitable foundation in order to raise funds to support and expand the programs and activities so essential to MCA’s core mission.
The Marine Corps Association Foundation will not replace the Marine Corps Association; rather, the Foundation will enable the Association to do an even better job of supporting Marines and their readiness as these requirements continue to evolve and expand. MCA will continue to publish the Marine Corps’two professional magazines: The Marine Corps Gazette and Leatherneck Magazine .
