Dear Marine Corps Association, Please accept my personal thanks for your very generous gift of the 2008 Commandants Reading List library books. They were well received by all the Marines and Sailors of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Your wonderful gift greatly boosted our morale while providing support to the Global War on Terrorism. Even more importantly, you reminded us of the support we have from the Marine Corps Association. Please relay my heartfelt gratitude to your caring people. Sincerely,

PFC Nathan S. Trefethan, from Sacramento, Calif., was recognized with the award at the April 19, 2013 India Company graduation for 3d Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego.
At The Basic School, Marines are taught to learn from the examples set forth by past leaders. That legacy was permanetly etched for the recent honor grad of TBS's Fox Company and the recipient of the 1stLt Baldomero Lopez Honor Graduate Award.
With a rakish AV-8 Harrier flying shotgun above and flanked by realistic dioramas of Marines storming a beach and a hot LZ, the grandeur of the National Museum of the Marine Corps’ rotunda served as the setting for the 2nd Annual Wounded Warrior Awards Reception on 2 April 2013.
Marine Security Guard may have been a “B” billet for GySgt Luis Vasquezestrada but it was a role he put his heart into.

Dear Col Keenan,
On behalf of the Marines and Sailors of 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion, I would like to thank you for your support in helping us to establish our unity library. We are lucky to have a world class facility, newly constructed by a joint Marine Corps and Special Operations Command MILCON effort. Our Academic Instruction Facility contains a library room complete with book shelves and reading tables, but no books. Without your assistance...
I just wanted to inform you that we received our books yesterday afternoon. It was very exciting to open the box, find the various titles held within and realizing that "these books belong to us MALS-16". We can't thank you and the MCAF enough for this great opportunity. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Have a great day Sir.
It is good to hear from you.

In addition to the book grant they provided our honor graduates with books and plaques to honor...
Sir (John Keenan),
Attached is our Book Request Form. Again, thank you very much for this grant. We've already built a year long PME program largely centered on the books that the Marines picked from the lists. I look forward to their arrival and all the professional growth that will come from them.
