Directly Impacting Marines

The Marine Corps Association & Foundation started the New Year with a bar set high. During the month of January, MCA&F recognized 355 award recipients and spent more than $10,000 recognizing Marines.

Of the 355 award recipients, 211 received awards and 144 received certificates. The awards received included:

  • 1 K-Bar
  • 54 Books
  • 17 Cash Awards (value totals $3,450)
  • 13 Complimentary Memberships
  • 198 Plaques
  • 22 Trophies
  • 2 Engraved Plates for Plaques

In January MCAF hosted a luncheon for the Commandant’s Combined Awards nominees and their spouses, providing 15 roses and 13 luggage tags. During this period 144 individuals received Certificates recognizing their accomplishments. These certificates were sent to individuals at the following locations:

  • Marine Corps Detachment Ft Leonardwood
  • 26th MEU
  • SNCOA – Camp Pendleton

These awards are made possible through the MCA&F Marine Excellence Awards program. Each year MCA&F gives awards to recognize nearly 11,000 deserving Marines and provides about 97 percent of all awards distributed in the Corps outside the USMC awards system. The program offers tangible recognition of professional accomplishments and recognizes the honor graduates throughout the Marine Corps officer and enlisted formal schools.

To support Marines and encourage the existence of these MCA&F programs, please participate in our Special 100th Anniversary Campaign. The three-tier donation levels recognize our donors by name in the April editions of Leatherneck and Marine Corps Gazette magazines celebrating the association’s centennial. All contributions are tax-deductible and directly touch the lives of thousands of Marines each year.
